Facts of Life Book Cover
Gladys Forde is a lifelong poet whose work spans over 40 years, capturing heartfelt observations about family, love, and the adventurous spirit of life. Encouraged by her three grandsons, Gladys fulfilled her dream of publishing her poetry and was celebrated at a special book launch event at The Archive of Charlotte.

My Role
Crafting the Cover
As the cover designer, my goal was to create a graphic that reflected Gladys Forde's journey as a writer and her personal growth over the decades. To achieve this, I curated and digitally scanned her personal photographs, transforming them into a collage that told the story of her life—from her travels around the world to her wedding day. The final design celebrated her legacy while embodying the timelessness of her work.

Book Debut and Signing Event
The book debut and signing event was held at The Archive, a woman- and Black-owned café known for its locally roasted coffee, tea, and collection of books by Black authors. Attendees had the chance to meet the author, purchase her new book, and have it signed while enjoying light bites and a live DJ performance.
