Design to Dollars
If it weren't for my high school mentor, I wouldn't be the designer I am today. That one person changed the trajectory of my life, and I’ve carried that lesson with me ever since. When I was approached by Do Greater and ArtsPlus to teach middle schoolers how to use Procreate, I jumped at the opportunity to pay it forward.
The Program
Guiding Young Designers
This free, 11-week afterschool program empowers students to transform an idea into a tangible product using an iPad and Procreate. I guide them through brainstorming, sketching, and designing items like stickers, bags, pins, and keychains.
Real-World Impact
Beyond the Classroom
At the end of the semester, Arts+ prints their creations to be sold at a pop-up shop for family and friends. For many students, it’s their first time selling something they’ve designed, and they get to keep all the profits from their sales. Watching these young creators experience the joy of bringing their ideas to life—and earning their first checks—is an unforgettable part of my work.
